Yuppie Clique
Usually when I say that, It’s a bad thing, but not in this rare case. Yuppie Clique is a forward thinking uber-urban, “NY elitist poor” clothing company who recently took to the friendly tubes of the inter-webs.
They keep is simple, keep it real and definitely fresh with hints of old-school east coast swank.
Tag lines like “Shop, Party, Repeat” might not be reality but with a shirt that says so, we can dream right? Many of their shirts sport some NY pride with “Empire State” and “5th Ave” in sleek broadway and bauhaus fonts. A true, simple mogul for NY chic for the easy going fashionistas, or the meticulous one who wants to look easy going…
Since it’s summer, and over 90 every day here and on the east coast, I thought I’d start with my favorite Tank tops.
Heres some sweet mens styles, many of which come in women’s styles:
some of the designs may seem a little “easy” per say but upon closer inspection the fonts, designs and style are a pretty well thought out thing. They make me think of skinny long haired girls in tight jeans or super short shorts hanging out on roof tops in Manhattan – something way overused in ad campaigns lately (LNA, FLUXUS, American Apparal…). Nevertheless, unlike those companies, Yuppie Clique in name, design and slogan doesn’t pretend to want to be someone they’re embarrassed to want to be (read that twice). No blank oversized tees for them, just saying it how it is, and they say it without the photos of skinny long haired girls on roofs.
