Whilst going to the gym is all about getting a great workout and helping you to feel good, that doesn’t mean that you can’t look good whilst you do it. Having your hair in the way throughout a workout is very annoying, but fear not, as we’re here with some fun hairstyles for the gym that mean your hair will stay out of your face but it will also look super cute. These looks can be adapted to any hair length as well, so get ready to look amazing and feel even better in the gym with our fun hairstyles!
A Simple Bun
First up we have a simple bun! Whilst this might not be the most creative of all, it’s certainly one of the most important, as it helps to keep your face and neck completely free from hair. This is especially necessary if you are doing any kind of workout where you need your neck to be involved, like squatting with a heavy barbell or doing hip thrusts where your hair could get caught under your back. Nothing will hold back your fitness routine! A bun is also a great option if you are doing something like yoga or pilates, where you will be turning upside down quite often and won’t want hair in your eyes! This will help you to concentrate completely on the task in hand, whilst also making sure you stay comfortable as your hair won’t be getting pulled at any point. Our favourite method for a bun is to first create a pony tail and secure it with a hair tie. Then, take your ponytail and twist it until it naturally starts to coil, then it should be easy to wrap around the base of the ponytail. Secure with another hair tie and a couple of bobby pins if necessary!
Ponytail With A Plait
Next up, we’ve taken a classic ponytail and brought it to life with a plait! This is another great gym hairstyle, as everything will be out of your face, but it has that extra bit of nice detail thanks to the plait. We would recommend that you first take a section from the front of your hair and keep that in a hair tie to the front, then put the rest of your hair into a normal ponytail, either a high one or lower one. From here, you can then plait the front section of your hair (do this towards the back of your head so you don’t end up with a bump at the front of the plait. Secure this at the back just underneath your ponytail and blend the rest of the hair in. Then, you’ll be good to go!
Half Up Half Down
Last but not least, if you’re doing a lower intensity workout or you have shorter hair, we love a half up half down look. This is a great way to keep your hair cute and comfy whilst also keeping the majority out of your face! Super simple and looks great, especially with a crop top and seamless gym leggings set, so it’s the best of both worlds. Scrape the hair with a brush from level with the top of your ears and then do the same on the other side, scraping it all back to the middle of the back of your head.
