5 Great ways to get the best out of your Social Media

Social media plays an integral part in our lives, from sharing things with friends to keeping up with your favorite celebrities. There are even different social platforms that deal with the same information in slightly different ways.

The question is, are you getting the best from your social media experience? Is there anything else you can do that will enhance what you get and how you get it? Here are some tips on improving your social profile.

Expand your Horizon

If you have always been a Twitter or Facebook fan, then you will probably not like the idea of trying one of the other platforms. However, there are some benefits to having more than one social media profile.

You might have many amazing photos of your latest holiday, which you want to share with your friends and family. Though you can do this on any platform, sites such as Pinterest or Instagram might lend itself better to showing off your photos.

Increased Engagement

You might be happy just having your friends on your list, but there could be a whole new set of people out there who you should know. Both Facebook and Twitter have groups set up by other people. They cover almost every niche you can imagine, and they might be people you can share experiences with and get support.

There might be things you don’t want to tell your friends or family, but in a group with others in the same situation, it can be therapeutic.

Design

There is no reason why you can’t have a nicely designed profile page even on your personal profiles. If you use social media for business, then having a striking front page is even more essential. Software such as Adobe Express can help you create (for free) amazing cover photos for Facebook and other social platforms. You want to design something that will stand out in people’s feeds and grab their attention.

Lists

If you are an avid Twitter user, then you might like using lists. It is a way of managing your followers and putting them into a list. You can then see the posts by everyone in that list whenever you want: it makes it easier to check your friends as opposed to everyone, and it means you are less likely to miss something important.

Business or Personal?

If you use social media for your business as well as for your personal life, then it may be best if you keep two accounts. It means that if there is something you want to post on your personal account, you can do so without worrying about it being seen by clients or customers.

Similarly, your friends might not want to see all your posts about your business, especially if you like to post a lot.

It’s also a good idea to keep track of your engagement, demographics and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to know who to target, what people buy and how much of your traffic comes from your social media.

With these tips, you can start to get more from your social media accounts and start to enjoy more of what they offer. You may even meet some new friends along the way.
