Best Destinations for a First Family Vacation with a Baby

Going on a family holiday with a newborn baby can have its difficulties, as there’s so much more to consider so that your baby is safe during your travels. One of the most important things to consider is the destination of your family holiday. You should look to choose a destination that will be safe for your baby while also giving the rest of your family plenty to get on with.

This guide will help you by outlining some of the best destinations for a family holiday when you have a new addition to the family. Continue reading if you are planning the first family getaway with a newborn or want to get some inspiration for the future.

Best Family Holiday Destination With a Newborn

Mallorca, Spain

If you’re looking for a holiday destination that offers plenty to do with the whole family, then Mallorca, Spain, is definitely a solid choice. There are so many amenities, such as Fantasia Golf, Western Water Park and Playa de Alcudia beach, so there is no chance of you getting bored with the Spanish island in a hurry. It’s a fantastically safe place for newborns, too, as it has such a high level of British tourists, so it will feel as though you are right at home.

Disneyland Paris, France

For small children and babies, Disneyland Paris is the ideal vacation spot. The theme park in Marne-la-Vallée is the ideal place for a young family to have a mini-break. Adults get to unwind after a long day in one of the eight resort hotels, take a spin on the golf course or visit the shops and restaurants; young children will love the mild rides and getting to know all the characters. You will feel very safe while exploring Disneyland Paris with your newborn, as it has a very friendly community and wonderful staff that will be ready to help you.

Patras, Greece

Patras, Greece, is considered a good choice for a family holiday, as it offers a mix of beautiful beaches, interesting historical sites, a vibrant cultural scene with the famous Patras Carnival and generally affordable prices. This makes it suitable for families of all ages with diverse interests. You can rest on one of the many beaches in the Greek city with your newborn sitting next to you. Just keep them occupied with something from a baby shop or their favourite tay from home while you enjoy the amazing sunshine.

Valletta, Malta

Valletta, Malta, is regarded as a good option for a family vacation because it provides a variety of historical sites, easily accessible cultural events, family-friendly dining options and a very walkable city centre that makes it simple to explore with a newborn while still offering plenty for adults to enjoy. The Grand Master’s Palace and St John’s Co-Cathedral can be wonderful places to visit as a family.

Algarve, Portugal

The Algarve region of Portugal is a great place for a family vacation. It has beautiful beaches with kid-friendly waters, many family-friendly resorts, kid-friendly restaurants and activities and reasonable costs for almost everything. You can create amazing memories with your family at this destination, especially if you have a new addition to the family.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to picking the perfect destination for your baby’s first holiday, consider factors such as flight times, peak seasons, all of the accessories you need and which destination is both safe and easily accessible for parents with a pram. There are so many key considerations, and that’s why we have selected some of the best spots, not only because they are less than 3 hours away but also because they are very family-friendly and popular destinations with so many places to go away from the city centre.

Ensure that you pick a hotel that is both kid-friendly and within walking distance to it all; this will make it much easier to take the little one back when they are feeling tired or overwhelmed.

The first holiday with your little one will be special no matter where you go, so ensure that you are going to a place that you will also get to enjoy, whether it’s a beach holiday are a little village abroad break.

Traveling enriches the soul, but it can also take a toll on the planet. We aim to shift this by promoting eco-friendly travel habits. Our content focuses on how to minimize carbon footprints, suggesting destinations that support sustainable tourism, and providing tips on how to travel responsibly. Whether it’s choosing public transportation over flying or selecting accommodations that are committed to sustainability, every small change counts.

    Alternative Materials to Leather

Furthering our commitment to the planet, we explore and endorse alternative materials to leather. With numerous innovative and sustainable materials now available, there's no need to rely on traditional leather. From plant-based options like mushroom and cactus leather to recycled materials, we guide you through the benefits and sustainability profiles of each alternative.

    Second-Hand Fashion

In our fight against fast fashion, we encourage shopping for second-hand fashion.
