Portland on a day like today

I spent a while shopping on Hawthorne today at a couple resale clothing shops, finding several great things of course, when I came across these girls and their damn great combos. I ,as usual, didn’t ask where everything came from but it can be assumed that most if not all is resale and “vintage” (unless I see them again and ask). Of all the people on Hawthorne it was hard to find anyone worth taking a photo of, some peoples outfits seem so preconcived based on what they think everyone else is wearing and what will get them the most…

Plaid is the new black

“By Kos-Mos. Frilly shirt found at a random festival, Body line jacket, Riachuelo shorts and hairbow, hand made necklace, Montreal rocing horse shoes, Body line and Lupo socks and tights, Body line bag, pin given to me by Meh, random belt with a heart buckle that was given to me by Lily, VW replica/le cafe/hand made rings. Featuring Gloomy” Plaid I never really thought I would say it but, plaid is finally cool, at least for a little while. I never got into the grunge era, looking like a slob was never appealing although holey jeans never got old, as…

Men and Kilts: why the hell not?

I totally like the shape, and the way it is always changing. It’s just…

Portland’s First Warm Week!

Portland had its first semi-consistent week of sun and (near) warmth! A visit from out of town and tolerable weather got me on the street again! and where else to take an out of town friend than Hawthorne Street (first of many neighborhoods to see). Hawthorne can can get a bit overcrowded on weekends, but luckily we roamed around on a Wednesday. Weekdays offer more space to breath, less people to compete with at stores and a better chance of finding room or time to stop someone and ask them for a photo. Also, with the excellent weather, and hopefully…

San Fran Weekend

This last weekend was great! I went to San Francisco for four days for a surprise birthday party. It was my first time and even though it rained and flooded the first day, with a prognosis of more rain all weekend, it cleared up the last 3 days just for us! We went to Haight street and shopped for a while. There were masses of vintage and recycled clothing stores as well as great new stuff like a Kid Robot store and RVCA outlet! Overall the prices were to be expected from one of the most spendy cities in the…
