San Antonio, Texas

Street Fashion.net has been on the road since October and not really doing much blogging on the way. We did intend to hang out in cities and make some decent sized lists of shops in each that we love but instead we have been far from cities and even towns about 80% of the trip. This is because the US is really huge and cities are far from each other. As far as cities, we have only stayed in Tucson, Arizona and now San Antonio, Texas. Everything else has been small towns with nearly nothing in them and state parks…

On the Road!

If anyone cares to know why we have not updated in so long, its because we have been very very very busy! We are putting together our cross country road trip, setting up an off-the-grid (self sufficient)   motorhome and hitting the road this week! I, Katya spent the last month in eastern Washington perfecting comfortable RV living while things were wrapped up back home in Portland. We are selling everything but the essentials and heading first to New Mexico then west for an awesome Halloween at Slab City. While on the road I will be checking out and listing…

Mexico City Street Art

While in Mexico City and surrounding towns, the people I was with, who live there, didn’t often understand my obsession with street art and fashion. Since they were driving this meant that they only stopped for me to take photos of these things when it was convenient for everyone – understandably since many neighborhoods were not the types you stop in or traffic and parking just didn’t allow that sort of thing. I basically mastered shooting from the car. Here’s a few shots of street art and tags i got – some walking, many from the car. These are all…

Mexico

Its my second day here after sleeping about 15 hours and it started off pretty nice. Took a shower, went with my friends family to the street market. There were clothing stands and lots of food and meat of course. I was totally surprized by the smell of the market. It went from awesome to the worst thing I have ever smelled in my life within a couple feet. The fashion is ok that Ive seen. pretty basic. I stand out like a sore thumb. I match the signs and decorations more than other people since I brought all my…

Summer weather and the freedom to wear what you want

Had a busy day today, just got back from another trip to the California desert Tuesday and Im already behind on school work again. I went to Backspace for coffee to read for a class, then ended up spending money on a blogging book too, then a soldering iron to work on my new necklaces which are awesome and you will want 10 of. On my way from the train to my apartment I pass the local mall and once in a while I’ll see some awesomely dressed person walking the same way. Today it was Cloudy. Unspeakably awesome style….

Tel Aviv, go there.

I once had a chance to move to Tel Aviv, but under the circumstances it was not   the right time or for the right reasons. It’s an amazing city, modern, diverse, interesting and full of   people and things to take photos of. A recent contributor trapped me for nearly an hour in his photostream looking at photos from Tel Aviv and other places he’d traveled. His photos not only make me want to go even more urgently, but also inspire me to get out of the house and seek out intersting things in my city (unfortuinately I live…
