Coachella kicks off and Summer festival season begins!

I love Music Shout!

Today is the beginning of the 2010 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, one of North America’s largest music festivals. Most people see it as a sign of the coming outdoor music festival season, rockfest, countryfest – whatever floats your boat but Coachella, as one of the more expensive festivals, has a reputation for delivering at the price. This year is the 11th Coachella Festival. Opening day performers include Jay-Z, La Roux, and Vampire Weekend. If you are not fortunate enough to attend the festival in person, like me, we can watch a Webcast of the festival on Facebook . Starting at 8pm Eastern time, it’ll be the first time the festival is live online. I probably wont be watching, its just a sort of cruel torture for me. I’ve been trapped indoors working for months it seems and an outdoor festival is what I need right about now.

I decided to come up with a list of fashion and accessories that remind me of Coachella, some of them are a bit hippie, not my style, but they definitely make me think of a free spirited weekend in the desert, camping under the stars and getting drunk with total strangers. Thats a real outdoor fest and I imagine that’s just whats going on in Coachella California right now (read about the history of Coachella Fest).

Galibardy is a super creative company when it comes to sculpture jewelry. Recently they released an awesome collection inspired by Alice in Wonderland, nerds, death and robots – some of my favorite things ever.

3. Luvian (Germany)

Luvian is an artist submission t-shirt store in Germany with tons of great original designs! I thought these were appropriate for the music festival circuit. A music tee, a mushroom tee and a rock and :let the good times roll” tee! Check them out! And don’t be afraid of having things shipped from Europe or anywhere really, not only are most companies pretty fast at shipping but 80% of the time you’ll be the only person within 10000 miles wearing that item!

4. Toms shoes

These shoes are great for many reasons. They were inspired by traditional shoes of Argentina, ones used in fields for farming, walking hundreds of miles across patagonia and standing for the all too elusive Argentine deep jungle music festivals of yore (I made that up). They are built for comfort and to last and that just what they do. Find a giant selection here at this link!

Get ready for a hot summer!

  1. I love festival fashion!!

The shoes are particularly cool, but might not work so well at the British festivals I’m used to. Mud is standard!
