How to Achieve the Perfect Summer Look

Summer lets us enjoy natural beauty. In fall and winter you spent your time putting together complex outfits, makeup looks, and hairstyles, but now that cold months are far behind us, it’s time to remove the bells and whistles and embrace simplicity. 

This season it’s all about that subtle dewy glow to your skin and effortless beauty hacks that will make you look like you just rolled out of bed looking like a sultry goddess.  

We’ve got a few tips to help you bring out that inner radiant glam and spend this summer as the hottest girl in the town. 

Plump skin and toned body through exercise 

The best thing about exercise is that it won’t just give you a firm butt and toned thighs that you can show off in short summer outfits. It will give your skin an incredible, plump luminosity because working out improves circulation and collagen production, so you’ll stave off aging and look healthier. Not to mention how it can make you look and feel good in your own body and give you the kind of confidence that will reflect on your face. Here are some home workouts you can try.

Superfood nourishment

Blueberries, avocado, tomatoes, watermelon, and bell peppers – summer superfoods are all over the markets now, and they’re just the thing to eat during a heatwave. Healthy food will nourish you from within and make your skin, hair, and nails look great. Light food like this can also help you slim down if your aim is to shed a few pounds. 

Voluminous, sexy hair 

A good blowout will give you that sassy, untamed look that’s perfect for summer. Just wash your hair and let it air dry until it’s only about 10% damp, than use a blowdryer and a round brush to lift it at the roots. If you want even more volume, then experiment with a good clip in hair extensions because they can make your hair look thicker and stronger. Since clip-ins are so easy to put on your hair, you can get crazy volume in less than five minutes of effort and you don’t even have to bother with anything other than basic styling to make it look perfect.  

Lit-from-within glow

The easiest way to get glowy skin with makeup is with a little highlighter. However, we’re changing the technique here a little bit – instead of using powder highlighter on top of your foundation, use liquid highlighter under your foundation. It might sound a little crazy, but trust us, it works. After priming your skin, dab a few drops of liquid highlighter on top of your cheekbones using your fingers or a damp makeup sponge. Let it dry, and then apply a thin coat of foundation or tinted moisturizer. Perfect technique for a natural, lit-from-within glow. Just a little bit of soft, supple radiance and dewy-looking summer skin that looks invitingly healthy. 

Bright summer lips

Shades for the summer – pink coral, orange-red, and peachy nude. Warm-toned shades will make your face look fresh and can bring some vibrancy to your makeup look without overwhelming your face. If you want something even simpler, then we highly recommend a clear lip gloss. It’s a one-step process to get that perfect juicy pout. 

Glowy, not greasy

Unfortunately, summer weather can also mean excess oiliness and sweat. To avoid looking greasy instead of glowy, we recommend that you set areas of your face that tend to get oily with a little setting powder and that you keep oil-blotting sheets in your bag. Every time you go to the bathroom, simply blot away excess shine and your face will look refreshed. You can carry oil-blotting sheets with you regardless of whether you’re wearing makeup or not. 

You don’t need much to pull of the perfect summer look. A dab of makeup here, a sassy outfit there, and you’re basically ready to head out of the house. Keep yourself healthy through exercise and a good diet, and you won’t need any special kind of products to look good.
