Portland had its first semi-consistent week of sun and (near) warmth! A visit from out of town and tolerable weather got me on the street again! and where else to take an out of town friend than Hawthorne Street (first of many neighborhoods to see). Hawthorne can can get a bit overcrowded on weekends, but luckily we roamed around on a Wednesday. Weekdays offer more space to breath, less people to compete with at stores and a better chance of finding room or time to stop someone and ask them for a photo. Also, with the excellent weather, and hopefully…

Israels big secret!
dana, originally uploaded by I Look. Tel Aviv has a great street fashion scene! Regularly I get submissions to the Flickr group of peopel in Tel Aviv (and all of Israel) and I finally decided it was too much to let pass. It must be known! Blogs like ILook – Israel Street Fashion and Street Walker (both in Hebrew) offer a deep look into the local scene and its members (and you dont need to read Hebrew to look at pictures, do you?) Between a mix of thrift stores, local designers and international stores like American Apparel, creative style in…
HiStyley: LA’s Street Fashion Scout
HiStyley l Rodeo Drive Street Style #32, originally uploaded by tittyboo1. Swedish born LA resident and street fashion photographer, Tittyboo, has made herself the inside lens on the street fashion scene of the Los Angeles area. Launching the website, HiStyley.com in September, shes caught the eyes of street fashion fans globally in just a few short months. A regular contributor to the Street-Fashion.net flickr group and fan of SF blogs and photographers worldwide, she aspired to contribute with photos from the scarcely documented LA scene. All the photos on the website are candid, an important element in expressing an accurate…
San Fran Weekend
This last weekend was great! I went to San Francisco for four days for a surprise birthday party. It was my first time and even though it rained and flooded the first day, with a prognosis of more rain all weekend, it cleared up the last 3 days just for us! We went to Haight street and shopped for a while. There were masses of vintage and recycled clothing stores as well as great new stuff like a Kid Robot store and RVCA outlet! Overall the prices were to be expected from one of the most spendy cities in the…
Stumptown Style
So, My first Street Fashion photo from Portland Oregon! Of course, I forgot to ask his name.. where he got his clothes.. everything I know better than to forget, but I got nervous. Anyways, YAY! The faux fur vest caught my eye first of course but it became clear there were no accidents in what he was wearing. I struggled a bit to subdue my flash (I’m getting used to digital again after losing my last one). Im so glad I got this camera for xmas, This’ll be so much easier when I’m just wandering around campus having to worry…

Eco-Fashion Popularity Rise!
Garance Burke, Associated Press Jan. 4, 2008 — In a workshop in the city’s Mission District, Ally Beran’s team of fashion designers is sprawled out over buttons and spools of thread, hoping to stem global warming by stitching new outfits from thrift store finds. A brown lace applique from a scrap bin could make last year’s castoff cashmere pop, Beran muses. Or, she reckons, swatches from a tattered leather jacket could double as chic epaulettes on a high-end used sweater. Designers of so-called sustainable fashion are not only dominating New York catwalks and urban boutique racks this winter, many also…
Snazzy New Used Shoes
my new shoes, originally uploaded by LostLogo. I took a trip to Canada for New Years Eve and picked up some great clothes while I was there. Every time I go on a trip, California, Seattle or Canada (most recently), I find such amazing clothes. Portland seems so tapped out sometimes (and I do know all the places to go). I’m just not as willing as some to get up at the crack of dawn to snag all the good used stuff I guess. It’s a major plus to have things from out of town in my opinion anyway. People…
