My style is always Old School in a sense, in highschool I wore a leather jacket with patches and spikes, combat boots and had a mowhawk. I may have toned it down a little over the years but I always have elements of skulls and spikes, and clothes that are worn, ripped and torn. I’m not one for looking neat or wearing “pretty” things. I’ve tried it, it doesn’t work for me.
While doing my summer shopping this year I was excited to find out that “old school” is somewhat “in” right now. I don’t care when other people start to dress like I always have, no one is a wanabe in my book, fashion is for fun (and covering oneself). I am happy to have items I like more readily available and I’m sure lots of other people are as well. Tank tops with deep cut armpits, fringe, purposely worn out fabrics = awesome.
Here are a few other people from the group with a similar style to my own, and whether it’s a new style or they’ve been dressing this way longer than any of us, they would be happy to know they can replace some of their favorite pieces now without the pieces looking too new. The “broke in” look is key to being old school.

It makes me feel old to call grunge “old school” but it really is becoming just that. Like hearing Guns’n’Roses on the classic rock station, proof that time passes quickly is everywhere in the world of culture and style.
