With summer finally being here, we can now start to embrace the looks of the season. There are some things that never go out of style in summer. Sunglasses, flip-flops, and denim and pretty much always a winner. But there are a few other looks that you need to add to your wardrobe this season.
This is one of those hallelujah moments! A fashion style that doesn’t compromise on comfort. Chunky sandals have large straps and have just a chunky platform esque heel. It is flat so super comfortable for all of those evening walks by the beach on vacation. There are a lot of styles available, in all different colors. Metallic ones will be a big look this season, as well as just opting for a classic black sandal. I have seen some gorgeous ones online from Lord and Taylor. Now I just need to try and find myself a Lord and Taylor coupon so I can get a good price on them!
It seems that this summer you can look stylish but be comfortable and practical too. If chunky sandals weren’t enough, then now there is the backpack. I think it is a great option for when you are busy as your hands a free. So you can still take plenty of selfies in your sunglasses! I like that backpacks are versatile and will work with a variety of outfits. You can fit quite a lot into a backpack too, so you can have everything you need for a festival or day out. Some of my favorites are canvas options like the styles from Hershel or buckle up styles as I have seen at Nordstrom.
Off-the-Shoulder Tops and Dresses
The off-the-shoulder look is a nod to the Prairie theme; that is still going strong through the summer months. Floaty options are some of the best. And let’s face it, they keep you cool too. Frilly off-the-shoulder tops are something to look out for too. They add instant boho style and will be perfect with a pair of ripped denim shorts and some of those chunky sandals. Just make sure that you invest in a good quality strapless bra!
You can’t mention summer without mentioning sunglasses, can you? As ever, it is the bigger, the better. Cat eye sunglasses are a top trend for summer, as well as 60s style circular sunglasses. Think John Lennon and you’ll be on the right path. Make sure that you are choosing the right style for your face, though. If you have a long or diamond shaped face, then cat eye shades will look best on you. Don’t choose circular frames if you have a round face. Round frames look good on most other face shapes, though.
Are there any trends that you are looking forward to wearing this summer? I hope that this will have given you a little inspiration. I’d love to hear what you think and if you have anything excited planned this summer. Thanks for reading.
