My Perfect Day in Vienna

We had a nice 2 month holiday earlier this year and it was so difficult to choose where to go! We drove around for 2 months, spending most of our time in London, Wales and Southeast England but we also flew to Barcelona for a long week of shopping, walking and learning about Spanish culture. We had endured a long debate on whether to go to Vienna or Barcelona, involving the whole family, so long in fact that we eventually just flipped a coin. Since we will be returning to mainland Europe soon enough, I thought with the dreary weather…

Nerdsday: Customize Your Tee From Your iPhone

The world’s first programmable t-shirt exists. If you never thought all that awesome shit from the future (movie futures) would happen, you were dead wrong. Every day crazy new technology is being discovered, and even fashion is getting in on it. If it is possible, humans will find a way, eventually. From your phone you can change the tee’s design to your latest tweet or status, take photos, share photos, share music and more. The t-shirt itself has endless options with the iOS app, and the T-shirt’s built in camera, mic, accelerometer and speakers. The programmable tee, coined tshirtOS, is made…

Junkprints: Brooklyn Style for all Seasons

It’s straight up winter everywhere these days (except for you lucky people in the southern hemisphere), and while perusing Etsy like I do every day or so, I came across some of the best winter wear from an unexpected place, Brooklyn New York. The EOS Mixtape Watch

This watch is awesome, and already at the top of my wishlist (which I shamefully sent to all my family already). I tried a couple years ago to make some jewelry out of mini tapes from old answering machines, and wasn’t too successful in making them look as awesome as I’d imagined. EOS however, did,  just by making their own rather than trying to get sticky label glue off of them while trying to manage 300 yards of tape ribbon with 5 cats in the room. The Black EOS Mixtape Watch and the Tokidoki Mixtape Watch are probably the best…

Handmade Graphics for crafty street art lovers

I found this book on a weekend trip to Borders books this last weekend; Handmade Graphics: Tools & Techniques Beyond the Mouse. Its pretty much exactly what I’ve been looking for for years. A guide book and show of unconventional street inspired art and artists. It has tutorials on how to paint a mural on a wall with spray paint, paint your own custom shoes, bind a book or sew a monster and tons more. I jumped right in a made a monster. (Since its my first, I don’t exactly love it, but its not a horrible start.) Handmade Graphics…
