Photos of the Day: Bike Ride Envy

It’s basically winter here in the northern hemisphere, no snow yet but already it’s getting too cold for a casual bike ride. I long for a bike ride on sunny winter streets on a warm day but I know soon enough I’ll find winter things to do. Where is your favorite place to ride your bike? Nothing like dressing up and riding my vintage bike around the city – so many photo ops! Check out these stylish riders from all over! Designer of the Week: The Hellers

A much awaited designer for us, The Hellers, has emerged with their new collection and brand new website! We featured The Hellers over a year ago in a post about using Holga Cameras for fashion photos, their style and appeal was huge and people wanted to know where to buy their beautiful pieces. Well, the time has come and The Hellers new SS2012 collection is live and as beautiful as ever imagined. Their collection features flowing pieces, original patterns and innovative and modern designs throughout, while also employing a touch of strangeness, their most endearing feature. Designed and produced in Tel Aviv,…

Holiday Party Dresses to Email home About

I’m way behind on my holiday party planning, especially what I’ll be wearing. I’m hoping I’ll get the perfect dress by New Years, but for Christmas, I think it’s an ugly sweater, skirt, leggings and tall boots kind of night this year. Checking out the group, I got some ideas for my new years plans though. The perfect dress can make my night in some ways, assuming I lay off the eggnog and try not to out-sing my uncle Phil (usually ends up in a scream-caroling match) – having on a great outfit makes me feel more confident and original….

Photos of the day: Christmas Inspired in Russia

I have to say, I’ve been thinking seriously about moving to Russia these days. I even looked into how much the Trans-Siberian Railway trip would cost – not cheap but it could be a great peek into life in Russia while on a classy and historic train ride. I also love the street style in Russia, minus the fur (which can easily be faked). It’s 2 degrees where I am right now so as it is a Friday, I plan to bundle up well, and pretend I’m in a Siberian bar – dreaming of Russian Lolita style dresses. Christmas inspired…

Designer of the Week: Yours Truly (take 2)

Yours Truly is a brand we have featured once before but I they were thin on stock and I always felt bad that I had teased everyone with their cool Brooklyn original designs. I even got a call from a frantic French Canadian guy who really wanted to buy some of their stuff but was unable. I couldn’t get him to understand that I just wrote the blog, and I was not the store, but he just didn’t get it. Anyway, without further ado, Yours Truly is now LIVE and their 2011 Fall Winter collection is now ready to shop!…

I Love New York! A week of sizing up the style and myth of the legendary city.

I spent the last week in New York City, staying just across the river, near the subway in Jersey City. We could see the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan from our font porch and got to walk the streets in search of culture, food and style for one awesome week. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, got setup, and jumped on Path (the NJ subway) to walk around Greenwich Village/West Village area to get something awesome to eat. Almost as soon as we got off the Subway and were walking down the street in a random direction, we came across…

Fashion Feelings: Pattern in patterns

There hasent been the hugest trend in pattern dresses these days but for some reason I feel a tsunami on its way. Maybe its the prospect of spring, which for me wont come for months still, but, Its warm inside so dress like its warm everywhere till you have to worry about the outside..then put on a coat or bitchin sweater (like the one I just bought). After taking a look at the group I’m inspired to take a trip to the thrift store tomorrow, maybe even an overpriced vintage store! or maybe just etsy. check out these Etsy shops…
