There’s some interesting stuff going on in the world of “people who shop at places like Saks 5Th Avenue”. Particularly the jewelry of Liv Ballard. Her designs are unique and opulent, in themes that the mainstream would eat up but most can’t afford. Meant for a nice event, not the daily commute, these designs are truly something to behold. They look like something designed in ancient Rome for the upper classes, where they were free to wear their gold and jewels, to yes, even the bathhouse. For centuries archaeologists have found them stuck in the ancient drains of public baths as far from…

Gold Earrings This is something that has always traditionally been associated with older generations, but with rise in popularity of the Ray Ban Clubmaster sunglasses (and their gold trim) many people are now looking to accessorise with gold earrings that compliment them. Shammane Watches – Fashionable Parisian Smart Watches
A big problem with smart watches, as mentioned by the new startup, Shammane, is that they’re just not good looking watches. They’re often techie looking, hard edges, uncomfortable bands and generally eye sores – I agree, which is why I haven’t even considered getting one. That is until Shammane watches did something about it. Shammane is a fashion smart watch company currently in its funding stages, perfect if you want to get one of the first Shammane watches on the market at a huge discount. Their watches were meticulously designed by fashion minded people, who also care about how the…
Sugar Art and Fashion Show Phoenix
Sugar Art and Fashion Show happened in sunny Phoenix last Friday without a hitch and in glittering style. The event, arranged by an independent set of women and made possible by volunteer mp and hair artists, and a collection of local artists who make it all possible. Not many people showed up but that just made it all the easier for photographers and fashion lovers to have a front row seat. Three music guests paved the way for several local fashion and accessory designers worn by a slew of local models. The DJ, playing between and after the bands and…
Don’t Let a Designer Name Fool You
Recently I was a surprised by an email I received about a new jewelry line, by a well known existing company – an fairly expensive company normally, and in the email was jewelry that looked exactly like a much more affordable company from the U.K. The jewelry in the email is Wildfox, a company who’s stuff I always like – and although I usually refuse to pay $90 for a tee shirt and $198 for a sweater, I do own one Wildfox sweater, bought I got at an awesome discount of course. I’m not sure why they decided to get into jewelry but I’m…
Junkprints: Brooklyn Style for all Seasons
It’s straight up winter everywhere these days (except for you lucky people in the southern hemisphere), and while perusing Etsy like I do every day or so, I came across some of the best winter wear from an unexpected place, Brooklyn New York. I’m in a snowy Colorado ski town for the next 6 months and it was down to 1 degrees Fahrenheit last night already, so it’s clear that I really have it in for me this winter… I’ve been to Brooklyn but never lived there, and I never thought that awesome winter wear would come out of it…
The EOS Mixtape Watch
This watch is awesome, and already at the top of my wishlist (which I shamefully sent to all my family already). I tried a couple years ago to make some jewelry out of mini tapes from old answering machines, and wasn’t too successful in making them look as awesome as I’d imagined. EOS however, did, just by making their own rather than trying to get sticky label glue off of them while trying to manage 300 yards of tape ribbon with 5 cats in the room. The Black EOS Mixtape Watch and the Tokidoki Mixtape Watch are probably the best…

A blingy homage to KIDROBOT
I’m not sure how many of you out there know my obsession with Kidrobot toys but I collect Dunny’s and Smorkin Labbits and over the last few years my collection has gotten to the point of needing its own shelf
