Lots of sources keep saying that this year’s thing is Neon and whether it is because we were told so, or because it is, neon has been showing up everywhere, in stores, on the streets and I’m totally cool with that. Ever since I can remember I’ve loved neon and although many people associate it with the 80s, why? It’s a 2012 thing now, the 80s can’t have it anymore, and with the designs coming out in neon, most of them nothing like 80s style in shape or style. Yellow is one of my favorite trending colors right now, a…

Punk Rock Japan
I’ve never think of Japan when I think of punk rock and denim, but here it is! A new trend in Tokyo seems to be a bit of Americana. Maybe not as much as in the 80s when a pair of Levis 501’s would go for hundreds (as a kid I thought I’d make a living selling denim to Japan) on any given day or when one of the “coolest” things ever were tees and sweatshirts with Micky or Minnie Mouse on them. This might be a step in the right direction though, price and taste wise, not that I don’t…
Photos of the day: Street Punk Finds a Higher Street
I was punk all through highschool, starting with my love for the music and my crush on a 21 year old punk friend of my borthers. I had a mohawk from age 15 to 18, green or red hair, a nose ring, a leather jacket with spikes, steel toed boots, cat eye makeup and dark sunglasses on all the time, – but I didn’t have any punk friends, I didn’t shop at Hot Topic, and I made most of my clothes myself from whatever I could find. My favorite thing to do was take old oversize tees and cut them…
Photo of the day: Protestors of Occupy Everywhere
The reason these people are protesting are much more important than how they dress so this isn’t really about “protester fashion” really, it’s more about them, their faces, the hope they have. All last year and this there have been major for “Occupy” movements and world changing protests all over the planet, and here are just a few who’s photographers happen to be in the Street Fashion Flickr Group. Plus the images are a bit catching in themselves.. enjoy and fight on! Occupons l’éducation – la Journée internationale des femmes / Occupy Education – International Women’s Day Students protest against…

Photo(s) of the Day: A Hair Day
Photo of: Elis By Gabriella Chame I don’t usually post photos of hair but I had to appreciate this. I had that same hair cut in high school and if I have any skill whatsoever I would have dyed my hair the same. Even today when I dye my hair a bright color, usually red or pink, I’m too lazy to completely bleach my hair, (not to mention all the lessons learned from bleaching my hair). At the moment the one streak of hair that I do dye red is the most unappealing faded brownish pink ever seen. I haven’t decided…
