Spending Money on Experiences Rather Than Things

For those of us who love to travel, we may have already figured this out, but I didn’t always know that experiences will always be more valuable than stuff until I got rid of everything I owned and moved to Argentina.  After that, I was hooked. I realized that I didn’t miss my tv, appliances, rugs, collection of antiques I had acquired or my bookcase full of books I’d already read ,or never would. I was living out of 2 suitcases full of clothes, a few dvds, my laptop, and just a couple inspiring nature photos for decorating my new place. I spent my days exploring…

Travel Packing Essentials For My Florida Vacation

We travel full time but every once in a while we have to “return home” to northern Florida. Since we don’t physically live there anymore, we only have to return to do things like renew our drivers licences, and basically, it’s way more like a vacation. We go hiking, ride our bikes, kayak on the slow, easy, rivers, and of course, visit the beaches. My favorite beach being a state park with nearly no one else on it, but it’s also nice to be able to walk over to a restaurant and get a margarita once in a while. I came up…

For anyone who’s been a touristy city or locale during the peak season, they will understand what I mean. Travel-dating site, MissTravel.com asked more than…

Pearls for All Occasions

I have never owned pearls, even fake ones, unless you count the yellow beads that resemble pearls that I bought in Deadwood antique shop.  I suppose I never fancied myself fancy enough. I often dress alternatively and I’ve always associated pearls with dressing up – which is true but as I’ve learned not at all the law. I finally sucked it up and decided to be open minded. After all, I often sport a nautical look and pearls are “from the sea” no? I have 2 nautical tattoos and love of sea creatures, boats, pirates and driftwood, so I got some…

Photos of the day: Christmas Inspired in Russia

I have to say, I’ve been thinking seriously about moving to Russia these days. I even looked into how much the Trans-Siberian Railway trip would cost – not cheap but it could be a great peek into life in Russia while on a classy and historic train ride. I also love the street style in Russia, minus the fur (which can easily be faked). It’s 2 degrees where I am right now so as it is a Friday, I plan to bundle up well, and pretend I’m in a Siberian bar – dreaming of Russian Lolita style dresses. Christmas inspired…
