The Best Way to Experience Portland is by Bike

It’s warm. It’s sunny (sometimes) and it’s time for Bike City, Portland Oregon to awake! Although, in reality Portlanders are tough, we don’t even use umbrellas, and we don’t stop riding our bikes just because it’s cold and rainy. However, the nice weather will mean more bikes on the road, more tourism and more bike rentals happening in this awesome, bike friendly city!

Portland is a quirky place. If you haven’t been, seeing it by bike is the way to go. There’s bike lanes on nearly every city street, and most main ones leading out of the center as well. Most local drivers are in the habit of looking for bikes whenever they change lanes or make a turn, but you should still keep and eye out for yourself and wear a helmet. More than once a parked car has opened a door on me – not fun.

In Portland, you can rent bikes at several places, or even get bike taxis after a night of drinking – afterall, riding a bike is still drinking and driving. These bike rental places are in high competition but one surpasses them all on full day rental cost and , Cycle Portland.  Check out this infographic on how they won this title!
