Fashion can be a cruel mistress sometimes. As soon as you’ve stocked up your wardrobe with all the latest trends, things begin to change again. Don’t get me wrong, I love fashion! I just wish some trends would hang around for longer than they do. There needs to be more stylish staples that we can fill our wardrobes with. In the hope that maybe the Fashion Gods are listening, I’ve put together this list. All of the fashion trends I hope never go out of style.
Layering
I’ve always loved the layering look. It’s so much fun to create a whole new outfit, using just a few key pieces. You can add dimensions and have fun with the whole thing. I find that layering is mostly a winter thing, although there are ways of pulling it off in the summer too. This is one trend I hope never leaves. Where would we get our different dimensions from then?!
Denim
Look, let’s be honest. Denim isn’t going to go anywhere soon! Although it may not be something you like wearing every day, it is a serious fashion staple. Plus, you can do so much with it! Even the most basic denim jeans and tee combo can be turned into something spectacular. With the right accessories. Denim shorts for the summer and denim jackets for fall. It’s the perfect year round trend.
Rose Gold
This is a trend that’s only recently made it into the limelight, but I love it. A lot of people aren’t huge fans of yellow gold. Others really dislike white gold. Rose gold is the perfect in between. It’s classy and elegant, and I really hope it’s here to stay. I like the gold watches by Shinola, which just go to show how pretty this pink hue really is. You can also get rose gold coloured shoes and bags if you don’t want to wear jewelry.
Maxi Skirts
I love the summer, but I don’t always love getting my legs it. Not because I have anything to hide (of course), just that sometimes I like to keep things covered. Maxi skirts are so perfect for this. They’re also exactly what you need for a summer day look that transcends into night. Wear it with flip flops in the day and you won’t look out of place. Pair with some heels at night and you’ll still look glam. That’s my kind of trend!
Cozy Style
Sometimes it’s nice just to be chill out in what you wear. We all like making an effort when we can, but sometimes cozy is best. If I want to walk around town in a fluffy sweater and jeans, then I will! It’s really in this summer. The “I rolled out of bed like this” look. We’re talking messy hair and shirts with sweaters over the top. Perhaps even some denim cutoffs. This is the kind of look that really needs to stick around. Everyone needs a cozy moment once in a while.
Those are the trends I wish would stay to play forever. I could just fill my wardrobe with them and never worry about going out of style. Isn’t that the dream?!
